Some of you will know I have two Yetis. This refers to the one in my signature which is nearly 5 years old. (seems like only yesterday I hopped on a train to the East Midlands to collect it). The maxidot has shewn me the first bulb failure: right rear brake light bulb.

Now I have always loved this forum for its good-natured arguments about stuff like DRLs and fog lights. It was the latter discussion about the merits of one rear fog light or two that stuck in mind. Did someone say that there were two bulbs? Could they be the same bulbs as the brake lights?

Yes. You've already guessed it. Spare completely unused bulb found in rear n/s light cluster fog light position, specification exactly matching the failed brake light bulb.

Result ~ a no cost repair!

 

Hope it saves someone the extravagance of paying 39p (including postage) to Euro Car Parts!! 

Spare bulb pack in boot also helps sort that issue.

OMG! Where? I've searched for nearly five years and never found it...

+1 with 2 Yetis.

I've still got the (complete) spare bulb pack that I had with my Favorit in 1992 :peek:  - but I don't think many of the bulbs would fit the Yeti..
