Another newbie

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm another newbie!!! Haven't got mine yet but it is ordered honest!!

I got a 2 litre TDI ambiente no extras nothing. To be honest I'm not a big car fan I'm a Biker most of the time. I just needed a car cos of my job and the company forced me to have one. They gave me an allowance, so I picked the best car for the money. The Skoda Octavia estate is the best car fot the money and much better than much more expensive cars. Spending as little as possible meant that I could erm get another bike with what was left in the allowance ;-)

In all of this though what a car!!! If you drive the new passat you'll hate it I do I have them when I work in Germany). The Octavia on the other hand is so much nicer to drive!!!

Better dash.

Hello & welcome to briskoda

Hiya.

If you've driven the new passat , how are you supposed to do proper hill starts with that silly push button handbrake , as it'll only let you release it when you have your foot on the brake pedal

I know, my boss has it on his Audi A6. It's impossible to do a smooth hill start. The brakes always hold on too long and then release with a thump. Good idea, crap implementation of it though.

Yeah I had one where the handbrake didn't release and I was stranded.

I think from my experience of the VW branded cars is that it is technology for

technology sake. Personally with things like this keep it simple, why make it complex and hence prone to failure.

Hi, welcome what colour did you go for?

Hi Mike,

I chose th Sahara metallic because it was different and to me suited the car. Hard choice though they all look good no matter the colour.

all the best
