I've come home after a week abroad to a flat battery. Completely flat.

I have rang round and been told an 012 battery is adequate but looks to small..

Any suggestions ASAP... in quite a rush with it.

Mk2. Managed to get hold of one from Andrew Pages. Same battery as original. £60

Took it off and took it with me.

Too late but may help another member.

 

When I went into the local TPS and allowing for VAT I noticed the battery prices seem very reasonable for OEM rather than third party from e.g. Euro Car Parts.

 

My experience is that if you intend to keep the car for more than a couple of years a cheaper option is false economy. Also unless a big price difference go for the largest that will fit as it could be the difference between starting or not if a drain from e.g. lights accidentally left on, or a fault. e.g. partial alternator failure so only partly charging or if diesel glow plug failure - I have both of these on previous cars.

A an 012 is tiny and no where near man enough. 027 or 075 are what you need for mk2 fabia. Both of which are the same physical size.

The 027 12V 55AH 480a battery is what I ended up with. Fits perfect in the tray and the cover over the top screws in as it should also.

No radio code needed either so that was an upside!

I had how ever left my dash cam running for a full week while been away... oops.
