Eibach springs con

Featured Replies

I just check that Eibach sells the same springs for 1.4 1.6tdi 2.0 engines. As far as I know 1.6tdi which I have and 2.0 liter engines are different weight which affect lowering then. It is con if you buy and car won't be lower Evidence: the front springs from My ex VRS which is 2" lower from factory came to my 1.6 tdi Elegance and no lowered the car at all because weight of the engine, it made the car firm on cornering only. I read here a few topics that say the people bought the lowering kit but it made a cars any lower. Who gona pay expenses for fitting on and then off, return postage etc. Correct me if I lost somewhere please

For a 1Z3 (MK2 hatch) there looks to be two different front springs depending on axle load.

1050kg - F11-79-004-01-VA

1.2 TSI, 1.4, 1.4 TSI, 1.6, 1.6 FSI, 1.6 MultiFuel, 1.6 TDI, 1.8 TSI, 1.9 TDI, 2.0 FSI

1100kg - F11-79-004-02-VA

1.2 TSI with DSG, 1.6 TDI, 1.9 TDI, 2.0 FSI, 2.0 TDI, 2.0 TDI 16V, 2.0 RS, 2.0 TDI RS

Might be worth checking which category your 1.6 TDi fits in to as on first glance it could be either. I think the easiest way is to look for the sticker on the drivers B-pillar as that should have front/rear maximum permissible axle loads.

Still, I agree there are far fewer choices than OEM. I think there are ten different part numbers depending on PR code for a FL hatch with standard suspension: http://etka.cc/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/OCT/year/2012/drive_standart/663/hg_ug/411/subcategory/411000/part_id/2561497/lang/e
