I'm looking at updating my steering wheel from the clumpy un-sporty 4 spoke to the 3 spoke Face Lift VRS, My car is a Sport so I'm not bothered by the VRs badge.

I can get the steering wheel and airbag for about £200 but I have no idea if I need to replace anything else like a slip ring etc. My current steering wheel is not multifunctional and neither is the one I want so I can't see the need for anything else??? Would it just be plug and play?

I wouldn't need to change the steering controller or loom if I don't have MFSW or stereo controls on my wheel would I, it should be a straight swap yes?????

Ah dude, I have one you could have had for much less than that.  Can you cancel it?  It's 70k miles old so a bit shiney but I'd be after half that.

I'm all paid up now but hindsight is a wonderful thing. The steering wheel looks mint, a 2012 with only 19k on it for £100 and airbag was £70. I guess I should have posted a WANTED thread doh! Thanks anyway.

Any idea if I need a different slip ring etc?

You could always sell it on and buy mine ha.  I hadn't listed it as I was keeping it as a spare but I should get rid really.

 

I can't help, sorry, never owned or worked on a pre facelift. You're not messing on with MFSW or looms so I don't think you would, could be wrong though.
