RNS510 and parking aids

Featured Replies

My Fabia has parking sensors and an RNS315 head unit, It isn't factory fit but it doesn't show any kind of parking aids.

I've seen on the RNS510, it shows the parking sensors distance etc so thinking about upgrading it, what does the RNS 510 work like on a facelift mk2 with maxidot etc?

Does your fabia have a small round grey plastic disc in the rear of the car that emits a beep and a red flash when you reverse? if so you dont have factory fit parking sensors and this is why they dont show up on your current 315, it also means they wouldnt show up on a 510.

No, they are factory parking sensors, I've checked the build codes to confirm.

If the sensors are factory then they should've displayed on the standard unit? As the 315 is an upgrade the wire from the sensors may not be plugged in the back of the unit or the sensor display may just need activation using VCDS

Possibly yeah, I'll look into it, just checking what other people's do. Thanks

Here mine in my mk2 but it's the vrs, assuming everything would be the same? They are factory parking sensors.

If yours are factory fitted then it'll probably just be a VCDS tweek to get them working. See rustynuts if you're interested in a unit, decent genuine chap.
