2011 Octavia VRS Replacment uprated clutch

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, i am rather new to this (Briskoda) but in my short time having discovered the community i have enjoyed and gained an insight into Skoda ownership.

I am a proud owner of a late 2011, petrol VRS, in slate grey. I have owned the car for about 9 months and it has now done 40k. It has recently had a "Celtic" stage 1 remap and has been rolling road tested to 260bhp and 270lbs/ft. Needless to say the original clutch is starting to slip. At the moment, slippage is occurring 4000rpm plus, when accelerating quite hard, but i know its on its way out.

I am really happy with the car and have no plans to further increase the performance, or change the vehicle for some time (4yrs+).

There seems to be sooooo much advice and lots of varying opinions on what to replace the oem clutch with.

Do i stick with the dual mass flywheel and fit something like a Sachs performance kit? If so which dmf? Or do i go down the single mass flywheel and performance clutch kit? So many makes, models and options and bear in mind i only have a general understanding of mechanics, i am no whizz thats for sure!

I would be interested in replacing flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder and anything else thats required, as its all oem at the moment and i want the replacements to last a long time (dont we all?!) and compliment each other.

I have a couple of garages which can assist in fitting for me, its just a question of what would be the best option based on the above and sourcing parts.

Having said that, i am in north wiltshire, so if there is anyone that can help with a supply and fit, then i would be very interested in that to.

Hopefully some of you fellow members can assist with your experiences and point me in the right direction!

I too have remapped mine and the clutch is also slipping, so will be following this topic with interest. Let's hope it gets some replies!!
