I'm still extremely dubious of after market LED headlight systems.

The factory fitted systems are a different matter altogether, they are engineered from the off by the OE manufacturer (Osram, Hella etc).

The biggest 2 issues with high powered LEDs is power management and heat management.

The power supply needs to be carefully regulated in order to prevent premature failure. The voltage needs to be kept perfectly stable and the supplied current needs to be closely  controlled or the LED will burn out quickly.

Contrary to popular belief, high power LEDs chuck out lots of heat. This needs to be correctly managed to ensure the LED, power management system and surrounding materials.

My concerns obviously lie with the LED itself, but more importantly it's the potential damage to other systems in the car as well.

LEDs for an aftermarket headlight application are still a bit of an unknown quantity. Proceed with caution......
