Uniroyal Rainsport 3 - 225/40/18 92Y XL FR - Bargain at £51!

Featured Replies

I've just bought my second pair of these for the front and I think they are great. They do wear slightly faster than my normal choice of Falken ZE914's but the wet grip is better, so considering we are more wet than dry here in Wales I've gone with the Uniroyal's again.

What are other people's thoughts and experiences?

They need to be on offer, my 1.9TDi Roomster chewed through a front set of these in no time, wear rate was phenomenal! Granted, good in the wet though!

I must be the only person who manages to make Rainsports last a reasonable amount of time.  I had them on my Vectra VXR and managed to get 13k miles out of the fronts. I don't drive like a granny and the car was putting over 280bhp out as standard - a tad more than a Roomster I would have thought (unless you've had a crazy remap with huge torque figures?)

We've got them on the Ignis and they have done over 10k miles with 5mm left on the rear and over 4mm on the fronts.  I've got a full set on the Octavia and they have done over 4k miles with 6mm still left on the front and 7mm on the rear.  I really rate them as an all rounder and for the money they are a bit of a bargain.

How do people manage to destroy tyres in such a short space of time? :S

Just replaced 4 x RS3 on my Fabia Mk1.

They lasted 15k miles, tracking spot on and they were rotated etc to get the most from them.

I could get 24k on same car from the discontinued RS2 so I consider them fast wearing and I also found the road noise quiet bad as they wore down, I don't intend buying RS3 again.

I found rs3's had too soft sidewalls. Shame really as I rate them highly as a tyre.

Good grip but did not last for me at all and I'm not an aggressive driver. No way would I fit them on the Ibiza with a heavy diesel lump up front.
