i have a major issue with my gearbox i have lost 1st gear has anyone had this problem or have a any info on where i can get a decent price one or a place that rebuild  thank you

Can you be more precise on the description of losing 1st?.

 

Do you select it and nothing happens?, can you not select it at all?, does it baulk but eventually select?.

 

Have you carried out any repairs yet to try to help the situation?, if so what have done so far?.

 

How many miles are on the box?.

it wont even go into 1st it feels like there is something in the way all other gears are fine  and not done any repairs yet as only just happend the car has covered 180k but the engine has been changed but not sure about gearbox i believe the new engine has covered over 120k

Could be the selector linkage needs to be reset.

Try resetting selector linkage and 1st turned into reverse and 2nd was the problem wouldn't go in gear
