When the sunroof is open there is a wind deflector at the front. Is it solid plastic or is it a mesh type?

I do wonder how the mesh will hold up over many years, not that we have it open often.  

I like the fresh air.

Unless it's pouring down or seriously cold I have the sunny open a bit. 30 months in its holding up just fine although the mesh material is a little tricky to clean well.

It'll be fine. I use mine as often as possible at all speeds and have no problems with it. My last three cars did a quarter million miles between them and there were no sunroof concerns.
