My sunroof has a solar panel. What is it meant to do.

The owners manual seems to say it cools the car on a hot day, but does not.

 

Anyway to check it, or set it up.

I think it uses the power to move air through the car via a blower (not sure if this is the main interior blower)

 

It should make the car less hot but its certainly not going to make it cool if its in the sun.

It powers the blower in the sun.  Has two annoying side effects:

1) reduced lifetime for the blower motor as it runs constantly in daylight

2) washing car during winter will often steam up the insides of the window due to fan dragging in cold damp air to cabin.
