I have just bought a new head unit for fabia mk1 are these just plug & play or will there be more to it than that?

They will be plug and play, although you may have to swap switched and permanent lives if unit keeps losing memory when you turn the key off. Also need the top trim to cover the gap when you replace the stereo. Part number 6Y0857231B41 costs a couple pounds from main dealer.

thanks for that, the new unit is a dvd player as well. so I will need to put 1 wire to the handbrake wiring,will this be easy to get to?

does anyone know which wires will need to be swapped over as it is not holding its memory?

Iirc it's the yellow and and red

Usually they come with a loom in the box, the red and yellow have bullet connectors that allow you to simply swap the cables.

just swapped them over, seems ok now.
