HELP!

Featured Replies

when I am driving my Octavia vRS, soon as I hit 18-1900rpm plus you can hear a blowing sound and it sounds like a diesel( a bit rattily).. trying to determine what it is exactly its definitely coming from the back of the engine when you are looking under the hood,

it gets louder as boost kicks in, all boost is fine you can feel it pulling but it isn't all there... :( :(

any advice much appreciated :D :D

thanks in advance   :bandit:

Could be the Diverter Valve failing.

Or one of your bits of rubber piping has a split in it somewhere that opens up as the boost pressure increases.

Carefully check all rubber pipework from the turbo around to the inlet manifold, including the hose that connects back to the diverter valve and the small pipe that comes off the top of it.

Assuming you have a standard intercooler set up, you'll need to get under the driver's side of the car to check properly if you don't spot a problem at the top end. I've had this before and in my case it's been where the hose is clamped onto metal tubing and has worn a hole around the jubilee clips rather than a split along the length of the pipe.

Hope this helps!

thanks man will have a look tonight!

what's the odds it will be my exhaust :S  :S :S

mine was making a "ticking" noise under acceleration, blowing from back of the engine, it was the gasket from turbo to downpipe...

there any chance you could give me a few hint/ tips on how I can access this to have a look,

thanks in advance :peek:  :peek:

its best on a lift so you can grab the down-pipe and see if its loose....

I let my tame mechanic do it, I'm no good at things like that ! lol...

Personally i thought it was a cracked manifold, thankfully not, or I may have had to upgrade! lol...

This is what the removed item looked like!

I got some new bolts too.... I do have a stainless 3" decat going on though....

this may not be whats wrong with yours....... but mine sounded like a bag of nails under acceleration, ticking away.....

easiest way to check is to try to move everything see if its loose...
