2003 Fabia Classic 1.2 htp. 11 months MOT. £450

Featured Replies

Due to inheriting a car passed down from my parents, this 1.2 Fabia has been made redundant. It is offered for sale on here only for £450.

First registered on 31/10/03 on a 53 plate. I got it a couple of years ago and ran it as a second car and then my son has been using it. He now has the inherited car so this one has been stood.

It has the 1.2 6 valve AWY engine.

Current mileage is 123220 miles, it was last serviced by me on 05/04/16 at 121491 miles. Last year it had a major service by a VAG specialist garage on 13/04/15 at 114366 miles. Prior to that there are numerous, but incomplete, stamps in the book.

It has MOT until 16/07/2017. It needed new rear shockers and a new O/S/F drop link. There are some advisories - see photo.

Tyres are o/s/f 7mm, n/s/f 5mm, n/s/r 3mm, o/s/r 3mm.

It had a new alternator, radiator, and n/s/f abs sensor fitted during the course of 2015.

Body wise it polishes up ok but it is scratched chipped and dented all over.

Someone ran into the back of it and split the rear bumper cover so it has a slightly different shade of blue rear bumper from a scrapyard. I still have the original bumper if you're any good at plastic repairs. I have also replaced the drivers seat with one from a newer Fabia (with slightly different trim) as the original seat back was worn out.

It is the basic model - wind up windows,no central locking, no aircon.

It has the original radio cassette which plays cassettes ok but radio is poor, I think it might be needing a new aerial but we just used an Ipod so never bothered with it. A few months ago an engine management light came on which was traced to a split in the servo vacuum pipe, I taped it up and has been ok ever since (see photo).

I have priced it based on spares or repair fabias on Ebay, with little or no mot going for £150 to £200, and decent ones going for £650 to £1000.

If you are looking for a cheap to buy, insure, tax and run car this is it.

I guess I should have known what would come selling a cheap car. Had a couple of "offers" already, I can't really be bothered with haggling over a car which I just spent over £200 putting an mot on.

Decided to keep it, thanks for looking ☺.
