Octavia MkII 1Z5 ABS Purge with VCDS

Featured Replies

I need to purge my ABS and am loathed to take car to a garage as I do all my own fixing.

What I want to know is, purely to do the ABS, can I use a £5 lead from eBay with my laptop?

I'm just looking for the cheapest way to activate the pump.

Please no guessing, I'd rather responses from someone who's actually tried it and can perhaps provide a link to a supplier.

Not sure on the lead. But remember when using a pressure bleeder and running the ABS test do not use more than 1 bar pressure or you won't clear any air in the EDL line in the ABS unit. And have plenty of fluid to hand.

Thanks I'll bear that in mind.

It's very confusing trying to source a lead/software to do the job without spending more than is necessary, I'm not needing to do basic scans or change settings, just the bleeding ABS!

Some ads don't cover the 2006 MkII, some are just readers, some promise to do everything but are suspiciously cheap, then there's Gumtree...
