vRs is having to go

Featured Replies

My vRs is definitely having to go as medically I've been told to stop driving. At this stage don't know how long for. But in excess of 6 months, could be permanently. Lease due up next May. My wife refuses to drive it. So someone else may as well enjoy it????.

Questions now. Do I hand it back, walk away as she needs to upgrade the 2009 Ibiza she has and could be any manufacturer.

Try to sell privately to get more spare cash before paying off finance which we "could" do now.Always worry about the payment bouncing after the car has gone. Trade in using VRS then sell the other privately

Would I sell the vRs plate privately,if what's it worth, it's only of use to a 14 reg vrs

Insurance due September so short thinking time

Thanks

Sorry to hear your news; my wife had to stop driving for a year a while back due to epilepsy so I feel your pain.

My lease is up next June so I guess we're similarly placed financially?  Ergo, you have negative equity.

You can't VT unless you've paid 50% of the vehicle's value.  Did you put a big deposit down?  You might already be at that point.

In your shoes, I'd hand it back, pay whatever you have to to remove yourself from the financial agreement and grin and bear it.

I actually agreed to early trade a few weeks before current state for a 1.4 Tsi. (Decided to be sensible) This was next May's plan!.But the recent deal came. As we have a Family run dealer, with 3 cars from them, it wasn't a problem to cancel. For that there was around £1000 to come to us.

That's it, deal completed. My Vrs is going today. Ordered a Yeti 1.2 SEL Dsg with lots of toys (or rather my wife has) as she'll be the driver for at least a year, depending on my final medical outcome.

I have to say my Vrs tsi has been possibly the best car I've had. Not a moments trouble, In green always noticeable. My friends say I saw you and waved But didn't see me (in their grey, black or white car)????. Sad day but been a pleasure to own.

Over to Yeti forum now. But I'll pop in no doubt. Can't resist being nosey????

Cheers

Derek

I'm seriously considering rallye green with the normal black pack next, partly for the unique factor and that you know its a VRS, what is it like to live with long term, have you regretted it at all?

Had it 21/2 years, loved the colours, Been approached loads of times to say what a lovely colour. Think in the estate it's especially good due to the extra length of the roof. Amazingly it doesn't look dirty even when it is. If you want to find it in a car park, it's easy. Down side is, the police will see you coming????

There is one other Rallye Green I've seen in my area, and that's it. So if your after a blend into the masses car go for another colour, If yo want to stand out from the mundane.Go for it. Apparently at least 3 Octavia's have been bought from my dealer on the strength of them seeing mine.

PS mine will be in a northeast dealers shortly

Must admit I do like the vRS green :)

Unlucky on having to sell. At least you have had the opportunity to own and drive one in a colour that most non-Skoda owners seem to like, i.e. stop and comment at car parks or garage forecourts and it doesn't show the dirt too badly. My friend is really disappointed with his new black Focus ( after having the race blue equivalent ) as it looks great for a short but shows every bit of muck and dust.
