Candy white or not

Featured Replies

I’m trying to determine whether the paint I have acquired to carryout repairs to the boot of my white 2001 Octavia is the correct colour or not.

The label in the boot is somewhat faded but if I squint I can convince myself the colour code is 1026 which I believe to be candy white.

However, I have come to apply the top coat and it appears to be a creamier shade of white than the car. I Know paint can fade but I’m not convinced I’ve got the right shade.

So my questions are:

  1. Has someone else noticed this, that can confirm that by the time I have flatted down and lacquered, the colour will take on a more brilliant white appearance?
  2. Is it possible that I have miss-read the colour code and that there is another shade of white that a Skoda Octavia of this age could be?
  3. What other possibilities are there?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Call a Skoda dealer and quote the chassis number; that will give you the correct paint code for your car and model year.
