egr smaller hole gasket

Featured Replies

What's the part number for the revised egr gasket with a smaller hole?

I have read on here somewhere that it exists and it is standard on later VW's but if I google it i'm being too vague and if I go into full detail nothing turns up.

It's a metal egr valve gasket for 2.0 diesels that fits the pd170 but has a smaller hole inside so allows it to function but helps to prevent dirt in the egr compared to the original gasket

That's the exact same eBay item I fitted on my pd140. The reason I fitted it was, the car suffered from the same hesitation that I suffered on my BLT Fabia VRS. This gasket completely eliminated the problem. It's more to do with acting as a restrictor for the amount of exhaust gas getting in to the egr valve I believe.

yep no stutter since

Just out of interest and completely off topic, do you notice almost like a boost leak sound around 2100 rpm which disappears as soon as the revs rive a few hundred rpm past this point? I've only recently noticed it and I'm wondering if it could be some sort of back pressure effect from fitting this gasket? I have no evidence of a true boost leak and I've checked the car over to death!

Not that I've noticed but when I've got time I'm gonna give all the pipes and vacuum lines a look at before any upgrades
