Tiguan Emission Fix issues

Featured Replies

Mate of mine has an affected Passat, car is going fine and he's only planning on keeping it another year anyway.

Told him to avoid the 'fix' like the plague. This 'fix' is for VAG not for the customers.

Hmmmm. They've not even told me when mine is supposed to be updated yet. Maybe all related?

This sounds bad, glad I don't have one.

Also very worrying was the comment below from a disgruntled skoda customer and if true is seriously bad news for a company to be threatening their customers.

The thing with Skoda UK or actually it is VW UK when they threaten you with the law and courts you have to call their bluff.

THey do not want to have their Employees standing in courts in England / Wales or Scotland or Northern Ireland actually admitting that the VW Group know of Fundamental Design, Manufacturing, Component Choice & Quality Control Failures or Failures of Software.

VW Group do not want Independent Expert Reports on the failures.

VWG do not want to admit how many warranty repairs they paid for or deals with customers with confidentiality agreements signed. Deals done to save having to go to court to defend the indefensible.

Thats just on Engines and Gearboxes, Manual or DSG.

Deals done with Warranty Companies where they say there were known issues, yet they sold a Warranty,

& VW Group sell Warranties and they know of the known issues, and then a claim is declined because of

'known issues'.  VW cough up to the Warranty Companies that are not their own in rather a lot of cases.

Shssss dont tell everyone.....Put it down to a gesture, goodwill, cooperation, you scratch our backs.

As to the UK and 'The Fix', Class actions or even individuals cases in courts will soon get them back to

the new supposed 'Honesty'.

If they want to charge for Diagnostics where owners think the Fix caused issues, those that are proved right will be claiming Expenses on time wasted going to Dealerships, Hourly Rates etc, and recompense.

VW Group never learn really,. & UK Publishers are giving them an easy ride.

Vested Interest there though in Advertising Revenue and maybe not so Independent.

Michael Heseltine's Media Group (Haymarket Media Group) is very close to the UK / EU Motor Industry, maybe too close.

Then he was very close thanks to the UK Government position he was given.

Right in there in the middle when a famous British Luxury Car maker was being taken over by a German one back when that happened.

Why would VW threaten a customer with the high Court?

Something missing to that story?

Seemed to come via VAG solicitors.

Since I "took on" the might of the VW/Skoda Empire re the not-uncommon DSG dropping clean out of gear, at low throttle opening issue , and despite paying £600.00 to an absolutly top-notch Motor Engineer (plus travel & accomodation on the Mainland costs) for a damming report.

Which I presented to Skoda UK.

However after being "threatened" via Shoosmiths with the Hight Court and £20,000-£25,000 costs, if I could not satisfactorily prove my case.

I LET THE MATTER DROP.

This bullying behaviour is quite shameful for a supposedly reputable company.

I even volunteered where the problem lay, a software interface between the throttle pentiometer, the transmission, and the IP.

Still it's only one post and should be taken with a pinch of salt. There are plenty of social warriors out there that will rage to the moon over the smallest slight, real or imagined.

At work we recently had a drama where one guy was threatening all sorts because one of the junior members of staff called him "Mr" instead of "Dr". Somehow that escalated to the whole organisation being antisemitic and supporters of the holocaust. We were threatened will all sorts of court action and the police.

Still waiting on the summons  :dull:

I am a keyboard warrior and they threatened me via a legal firm.

Their problem was i had the facts the figures and am happy to defend my position in court.

Defamation is a terrible thing, but then as it is we now know because VW admitted they lied and cheated over many years in many countries

and even threatened actions against many that said the corporation cheats and lies, or employees do.

Remember the Briskoda thread this was first in, and ones since.

Quite possibly, certainly it's one side, but that's why I said "if true"
