Is this windscreen chip serious?

Can anyone comment on whether this is likely to lead to more problems with the windscreen? It's on the outside of the windscreen seal by the passenger door pillar, maybe 1.5 cm long.

From what I can find on the internet it's ok for the MOT.

Thanks

Sorry if this is a noob question.

Looks fine to me, well outside of the swept area so not MOT issues either.

If it turns into a crack then that is the time to replace it, until then leave it would be my advice.

Is a windscreen chip repair free on your insurance policy?

Maybe worth discussing with them if so? It might spread once the frost sets in.

Not a problem unless it turns into a crack, which looking at that is unlikely. It's nowhere near the MOT fail area and not even in an area you can see from in the car so no problems that way. As for the post above there is no way that is repairable either as it's right on the edge and to repair them they have to get that sucky thing on and obviously you can't so it would be a new screen. Just leave it.

ah good shout.

It'd be a new screen if it did spread anyway. So might aswel see what happens then i guess!

Thanks

Wonder if it would be worth putting some clear nail varnish on it just to seal it?
