enabling eject button on Amundesn

Featured Replies

I've got a new sat nav map disc, but i need to enable the eject button to remove the old disc, i have done it before, but I've forgotten how to do it, so which controller is it in please ? do i need the sercurity code ? if so what is it please ?

TIA Rich

I didn't think the Amundsen ran off a disc. It uploads onto the internal memory doesn't it?

Nope, off the disc, my car is an ex-Skoda demo car I believe, and the eject button has been disabled so no one could remove the disc

Assuming it's an RNS 310, I think one of the adaption channels is to block/unblock the eject button.

Yes it's a RNS 310, it's just that I'm not sure which module or controller it is in though

37-Navigation is your best bet :)

It's one of only a few adaption options in the navigation menu on VCDS.

The Amundsen/RNS 310 uses a disc and the Amundsen+/RNS 315 uses a HDD.

I have a problem though, not sure if it's the latest version of VCDS or my car, but there's an issue reading the Navigation module, something about unable to read or a missing .ROD file, I didn't get chance to send the scan to Rosstech though, will try again tomorrow

Never had an issue reading all control modules with a previous VCDS version I was using, 15.4 ?, but when I was trying out my new HEX-CAN lead, it asked me to update the VCDS software as well

Did you carry out the firmware update on the lead?

Did you carry out the firmware update on the lead?

No idea how to do that

  • Author

Yep, genuine lead, the only thing I've not done yet is register it yet as I had still had the valid licence from my other micro-CAN lead on my laptop, I assume I need to get rid of this first before I continue trying to update the new lead

I get

Unable to find a .ROD file for :

SK_RNS310 A02007 (SK46)

ALSO get no comms with radio, even though radio is working

Make sure you're running the latest version of VCDS. Upgrade of the cable to the correct firmware version will be part of the process.

Latest version being used, 16.8, downloaded to update from 15.4 yesterday evening,

And you went through the cable firmware process?

Where it warned you that you can't go back and use a lower VCDS application version after this is done?

An autoscan might also help at this point :)

Not sure what is meant by "autoscan"

Do you mean the list of controllers and all codes that come up ?

I've saved something as when it says on the screen About the missing .ROD file and that I need to send it to RossTech

Yes

Done a reinstall of VCDS, still the same, I suspect it's something to do with a line of code in their software, so it looks like I'm gonna have to send my scans to them

FYI, I never had any issues using a genuine micro-CAN lead with an earlier version of VCDS on this vehicle 11 plate Superb combi

Getting my head round this a bit now, Speaking to RossTech now on their forum, done an autoscan, and posted it for Uwe to have a look

All sorted now, after speaking to RossTech via their forum, there latest update for VCDS, 16.8.1, fixes the issue with the missing .ROD file
