Octavia Dashpod

Featured Replies

Hi All, First post here so thanks in advance for anyone taking the time. I have started the process of upgrading my Octavia MK2 VRS with bluetooth, MFSW and new dashpod with maxidot, This forum has been really helpful and I have managed to get pretty much everything done so far without having to post and bother anyone. I have read that for the instrument cluster I will need to get a dealer to swap it over and that i need to get hold of a new one rather than second hand, I have also read that skodateile is the place to go however it has been down for a few weeks and hasnt come back online yet (was supposed to come online 2 days ago) Does anyone have any recommendations on where else I could source a new dashpod for my car, other that a dealers? or do i just have to be patient and wait.

Thanks

Jay

If you go to the dealers it must be a new one

I can fit used ones and remove the immo on a used one so it is in virgin state

you need to find the right one as early version won't work on later cars. This depends on what type of key you have

Hey thanks for the reply Eddie, I have seen your name come up a lot whilst browsing around :) For the amount of money the dealer said it would cost get the part through them (around 5-600 pounds) id defo be inclined to go with a second hand unit as you have suggested, I have a VCDS cable so can get any info needed for my car, whats the best way to determine what part number I need?

Many Thanks

it will have to be like for like, a diesel one wont work on petrol and facelift wont work with pre facelift or vice verser, the diesel ones have a lower rev band than petrol , you may already know this stuff but i thought i would post incase you didnt .

I appreciate the input, thank you. I have a 2011 Diesel 2.0 VRS which currently has the trip computer cluster, part number 1Z0 920 903 T but trying to find second hand maxidot units on ebay is messy as they don't appear to have the same style part numbers. can anyone tell me what part number I need so I know what I'm looking for? skodateile is still offline, i hope they come back..

It'll start with 1Z0 920 943. The letter afterwards signifies the version and petrol/diesel/vRS.

The only difference between vRS and non-vRS clusters is the dial facia (same redline and top speed).

Ideally you want one running SW:04xx or 06xx. This is on the sticker attached to the cluster :)

The diesels and petrols are not cross compatible due to different RPM ranges.

Mines a diesel and the donor is a diesel so I should be good then :)
