CR170 EGR cooler Blank, DPF internals removed

Featured Replies

Evening

Looking for some input from the guys in here who have the above done, there's very little info on cr 170 egr delete pipes, to keep things original looking it sounds like a blank would be better on the turbo egr port and the port at the front of the cylinder head to stop any gasses entering the coded out egr cooler, so it's just a case of coolant running through the cooler and it's there visually to look original along with the dpf welded back up with the guts ripped out

So guys who have their dpfs and egr coolers mapped out did you do the above? Or was there a different method

Thanks

I wouldn't bother with an EGR delete pipe, just a blanking plate would be better.  Be sure to use instant gasket (silicone sealant), other some smoke may escape and blacken around the plate.  I have my DPF gutted out too.  I've also replaced the stock air filter assembly and replaced with a K&N filter induction kit.  I also run the car on BP Ultimate Diesel for better performance.  Altogether, it's 220+ BHP and is very responsive, smooth and acceleration is really quick!

Same here...Was all done before i owned it.Except exhaust and filter.

I unplugged my EGR the other day just to confirm it had been deleted. And it has no light's on dash.

The EGR pipe to manifold look's like a tricky one to remove.

I was going to get a darkside delete pipe. But saw what was involved.even getting a gasket on each end of the pipe will be tricky enough.

I'm tempted to get it all removed when going in for a clutch. But then someone clever enough might notice bit's missing if it was ever checked.

Then ask yourself "GAINS" probably none...better off just blanking by the EGR.

Thanks for your input guys thinking about it now delete pipe wouldnt really be required would just blank it like mentioned, how do you find every day driving with both not functioning? Can assume it would be much better all round and no worries about future egr or dpf problems

Can't really answer that as it was already disabled before my ownership.

With DPF gone you will get smoke, depending on who maps it,mine doesn't smoke at all.

Only on start-up a little puff and diesel smell.
