I Locked The Car And Then .....

Featured Replies

The Yeti did not miss a beat and whisked us to our destination,

I unloaded the car then closed the two drivers side doors and

pressed the button to lock up. I was holding the button to turn

the mirrors inward, the mirrors did not move but the drivers

window half opened and stopped as I walked away muttering.

I unlocked the drivers door and closed the window which cycled

up and down a couple of times before closing.

Heavy rain was forecast so I kept an eye on it and everything was

ok. The mirrors still did not turn in on the button but the window

stayed put. On arriving home all this was at the back of my mind

as I locked the car and blow me down the mirrors moved in sweet

as a nut.

Could it be that the simply clever Yeti was teasing? were the circuits

preferential paths evolving as a sense of humour?dan, dan, daaan .....

Sounds a bit like the dreaded damaged door cable harness to me?

Over the summer in France we had an interesting windows and door episode. On a hot day with the air con doing a grand job we drove through what was like a tree lined tunnel, something like out of Lord of the Rings. As we reached the other end we broke out onto a golden field, lovely. Then it started. Door locks went clonk, windows went up and down. I tried to control the windows using the switches but they had a mind of there own. They went up and came down, sometimes part pay and sometimes all the way like a yo-yo. This continued on and off for 5 minutes, by which time I really was getting annoyed and confused. I'm not touching anything we each said, but I did not believe her.

For once I was in the right. The bag with sat-nav bits was sitting between the front seats, and was being lent on by my better half, pushing down the rocker switch for the door locking. Problem solved.
