VRS cutting out and hard to start

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Our solid vrs has just cut out on the wife. It's been hard to start for a while but has started to cut out now.

Going to scan it later but what are the thoughts? Cam/crank sensor ?

Can position sensor fault. Will order a new one tmw and post back

What was the fault code?

Cleared it now but it was cam sensor no signal which I have read is either sensor, sensor pickup on the pulley or wiring. Will try sensor first :)

P3007 - intermittent no signal cam sensor

And no...it has not fixed the cold starting problem - takes a few cranks to get going from cold and has cut out twice. Any ideas techie?

Cambelt changed by Audi master tech 2 years ago using correct tools so know timing is bang on. Or at least should be

Found the problem - wiring to pin 1 was damaged so replaced the loom right back to under the scuttle panel. Starts first time just like it used to. :)
