Yeti S Greenline - adding an AUX IN ?

I've had a 2013 SE Greenline for 3 years via my works car leasing scheme.  Having just bought it from the leasing company, I'm keen to finally add an Aux In adapter tot he Swing radio that is fitted. 

 

I've acquired one of these

and have fitted it, though this took some adaptation of the connector.  However I suspect that the unit has to have something unlocked to recognise the aux in connection - does this requrie some super cunning hacking of the radio unit or am I missing something simple?
