Insurance question.

Featured Replies

So, somebody made an claim against me using my registration number, in a town I have never been anywhere near saying that I hit them in the rear and drove off.

This was ongoing when changing insurers at renewal time so I had to declare this as a current open incident. During the period of new insurance was when the claimant decided to pursue someone else and the case was closed and listed as non fault. My question is do I then need to declare this on further years insurance?

It was not a genuine claim so get your insurer at the time to give you this in writing.  There was no claim, no settlement, nothing to declare other than tell them that.

I have had claims against vehicles i owned but which were not involved in any incident and as soon as i found out i had my insurer sort it out and there was

no insurance claim and no case open.

Have you contacted the police? If not fraudulent, could be your plate has been cloned.

No not contacted the police as the other party couldn't even say what car it was. A little while ago now and no further problems received so think the number plate was mistakenly taken down by the other party.

Did cross my mind about possible cloning.
