skoda octivia tdi alh 2002 electrical issue

Featured Replies

Hi to all members,   i am newbi on this site, need some help from you. my bro,s  skoda octy tdi (2002)facing electrical problem. car was running fine till last week.but last week engine refused to start. i am sharing my findings here. (1) Battery is ok; engine is cranking as normal  (2) Fuses on battery box are ok

(3) Fuses in fuse box (under right side of dash board) are ok  (4) When ignition switched on, 12 volt is present on fuel cut-off valve(solenoid on injection pump) as normal  (5) Power relay 109 is ok  (6) 12 volt present on fuse 32,34,43 @ ignition on.

Now two abnormal findings= (1) when car (engine) was running fine, i noticed that, there was always continuous ticking sound in the engine compartment; when ignition is on but now that ticking sound is missing and engine is not starting.(I dont know, from which part that sound was coming from.)

(2) When I switch-on ignition; the glow plug indicator does not lit ( which normally lits briefly)

Kindly reply,as soon as possible. thanks. (sorry for bad english)

one or more glowplags era not working that is why your car isnt starting.

I really doubt it's a glow plug. Try disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor and see if the glow plug light stays on and the engine starts.

I assume it turns over but doesn't actually start.
