I have a vrs Octavia pd170 not been used for a few weeks took it for its mot drove fine there then on way back starting playing up lose off power at junctions managed to get it home went to it yesterday morning started it up tickover is rough and accelerator pedal unresponsive anyone any pointers

Will the revs increase at all when you press the accelerator or does it do nothing?

Fault code check would be the first port of call.

Hi accelerator does nothing but if you keep it pressed eventually will start revving but takes ages

Hi tech1 no lights on dash got a guy coming weds because can't get it out of the drive

You need someone with VCDS, not just a generic fault code reader.

VCDS is tailored to VAG car and gives much more detail on the fault...

All respected fault finders use VCDS from Ross-Tech. If the guy you have coming doesn't have it then find someone else.

You said the car was parked up for a few weeks has water got in somewhere and causing problems i know on some audis and golfs the ecu can get water on it or damp if the drain holes under the windscreen area are blocked and cause throttle problems, also a faulty brake pedal switch can cause issues as when the car thinks its braking it cuts the throttle just some suggestions .
