Tyre dressing

Featured Replies

Can someone recommend some tyre dressing.

I have been using Greased Lightening which is very good.

I have just got black wheel's and i will be using a lot of dressing.

My problem is i see so many.I want to buy in bulk 5-10 litre's.

And i'm worried about quality.

I have seen some tyre's go brown, and some look like that have been lacquered, and start splitting and cracking.

I have never had this.

I have always used Meguiar's Gel and greased lightening.

HELP

Thanks

Interested in this topic as well.

Never been bold enough to buy 5-10L on a tyre dressing as yet.

Primarily as i keep looking for something better....

Currently i'm using EZ Slick tyre and trim - which does perform well.

A new review i have seen recently also highlighted Scholl Concepts - Slime..... seemingly worthy of a purchase

Must admit, the Megs Endurance I've been trying recently is just ok.....does a better job of dressing exterior plastics!!!!

Megs works for me I also have the EZ stuff which is ok, very easy to apply as its water based but the durability is not that great.

Nothing worse that than black shiny wheels and dull tyres.

Might try the Autosmart stuff, they have good rep,But £25 5l ouch.

Meg's is good on the trim,i use it time to time under the wiper's/scuttle panel.

I got the Endurance gel it's purple smell's yummy lol.

Greased lightening is £11.99 per litre.

5-10L?! Blimey, I find I never use that much per application, so one bottle of Meg's lasts me bloody ages!

Do have one mate who is rather OCD about tyre dressings, so will check in with him and report back

That's funny as I now use the Megs on the wheels and the EZ stuff on the scuttle panel ect. I found megs a pain to apply which just ended up going streaky but the EZ stuff being water based was far better.

Each to their own I guess.

The Gtecniq range is worth a try I'm hearing - I see there's a T1 nanotech and more normal T2 product.

I'm going to give Gyeon's Q2 a try this time as I'm about to stick an order in. Seems a similar nanotech approach to the T1. So I'll report back on that

I wash it every weekend if i can.I live in the middle of no where...a trip to get some is about 60 mile around trip.

I suppose because of this i tend to stock up on stuff...okay if we have a zombie crisis lol.

Being high up we get a lot of snow too.

Currently using the dreg's of Meg's Endurance,it give a nice black look, which is okay, but fail's the wet look. And it don't last that long.

And when your working on car or generally washing it,it's really messy to touch after, like oil yucky.

I apply the Meg's with an old detail horse hair brush, that's worn right down.i put it in another container and paint it on,better than a sponge, goes more distance, and you can really use the bristle to get in the detail's of the tyre.

I use to put it on the wiper arm's but if rain's it run's and leave streak's,scuttle pan dont really matter :)

Waxaddict Feeder Tyre Conditioner

Swissvax Pneu

Looks good and at that price you can't grumble! Let us know about durability please.

Car Pro Perl or Adam's Tire Shine anyone? Not used personally but seem to get great feedback.......

Carpro PERL gives a good finish it must be said; but will depend on your dilution ratio.

I personally loved the finish - but didnt ever get great durability....so i changed to try other products.

Adam's Tire Shine had a good review from Shaunyshine - but not personally tested it.

I'm testing my 2 current favourites on our own cars at the moment:-

EZ Click on the .:R36 which gives me a reasonable 3 weeks or so.

....and

Waxaddict Tyre Conditioner on the Z4.... which is claimed to be good for 1000 miles... but only 2 weeks in at the moment.

That's a bold claim by Waxaddict......didn't realise they're just up the road from me, well, a few miles away, so I'm gonna stick my head in next week and look into a few produscts - their tyre conditioner is worth a punt. Reasonably priced and if it does what it says on the tin then that'll be a great 'go to' product.

I have just had a thought,i can't really comment on how long it last's,living out in the stick's car's filthy as soon as i drive out the village, when it rain's the mud's up the wing mirror's lol.

I havent been before David - but i've chatted with Rich a few times online around the launch of some products.

Always very helpful and quick to reply. So cant imagine you have much to worry about....

Gtechniq T1 or Autosmart Highstyle for a bulk, economical choice.

cheers
