Anyone in the Norwich area available to look over 2013 Octavia Estate?

Featured Replies

HI all

i'm interested in the following car:

http://www.holdengroup.co.uk/used-car-details/used-skoda-octavia-elegance-tsi-dsg-estate-aluminiumsilver-automatic-petrol-id_4533.aspx

The car has been used for a part exchange at a Renault dealer in Norwich (Holden Renault). I'm based in Borehamwood (just north of london).

Would anybody local to the dealer consider giving the car a once (or twice) over to check all is well?

The car was registered in Dec 13 but has only done 13,500 miles so hopefully would be in decent shape.

As the dealer does not specialise in Skodas it seems there would be value in getting a Skoda expert to check it out.

Of course Id be happy to pay for your time and expertise.

If anyone'e interested and available, please let me know.

Thanks

Its still under Skoda warranty until Dec2016, so if you buy it get a health check done at Skoda before the warranty expires.

At that mileage it should be tidy still. Just check everything works, tyres, 2 keys, handbooks and locking wheel bolt key.

Octavias can be fixed 12 month servicing or variable. If variable I'd hope it would have had an oil change at Dec15. If fixed it should have been serviced twice, dec14 and 15 and will be due dec16, so budget for that, get some discount for it.

Thanks Glosrich

It has been serviced once by Skoda and then once recently by the Renault dealer that currently has it.

I wasnt aware of the Skoda healthcheck. Is this covered under the warranty or does it cost me extra?

The dealer will extend the warranty so i get a full year though i would imagine the post-manufacturers portion of the warranty isnt as comprehensive (just guessing though).

I would make sure that the official Skoda warranty is extended, and not just the delaer lobbing on a 3rd party warranty

Car looks mint, low mileage and is a good price. Only 4000 miles a year?? assume an OAP had it?

I think it will be a 3rd party warranty tacked on to the end of the manufacturers, but id probably look to get the official Skoda extended warranty for at least a year.

Ok, so assuming the car is as described when i go and see it, i've just bought myself a skoda. quite exciting really

Paid £11,400 after part exing my battered Honda Jazz.(with its mot running out next week) so that seems like a reasonable price. and i can stop trying to get any sense out of my wife when i go on and on about cars to her

That'll explain why the MOT runs until next September - the dealer's done it apart of their pre-sale once over.

As for price, you're paying near the top end for the age, but to balance that you are getting the Elegance trim with loads of kit, plus the low mileage. Welcome to the club!

I did think about dropping down a trim level to get the price down but i figure im planning on keeping the car for as long as possible and i did quite fancy the extra whistles and bells

Will the service interval run from Sept from now on or would it revert back to the original December?

Good question - people with a better idea than I have will be along later to answer that.

TBH I think somer dealers make it up on the spot, when they try to sell a service plan.
