Has anyone fitted an Amundsen+ ? do I need VCDS thingy?

Yes, you should have someone make sure it's correctly coded for your car.

if i want GPS DAB and BT what RNS No do i need?

OEM satnav units include:

- Amundsen (RNS-310)

- Amundsen+ (RNS-315)

- Columbus (RNS-510)

No Amundsen units have DAB or BT built in.

The Amundsen+  is more interesting as only some have both BT and DAB, you'll need to check.

No Columbus units have BT and only some will have DAB.

To check the Amundsen+ or Columbus has DAB, look for a black Fakra connector on the rear.

To check the Amundsen+ has BT, look for a sticker on the unit with the MAC address. If the MAC address is 00:00:00:00:00:00 is does not have BT.

All three units can support BT via a separate BT module.

BTW, the lad (in his al the bells and whistles SE Ambition) says hes got some traffic message service? (not RDS) ...whats that?

Certainly has a DAB connector, can't see if it's got BT as there isn't a suitably high resolution image of the stickers on it. As the seller says it does you should be fine.

I think he is referring to TMC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_message_channel
