Just wondering if anyone has marked their sills with paint or permanent Ink etc. to make it easier to see where to position your jack without having to contort your neck  to see where they are.every time you jack up.

Just opened the doors and seen the little indented triangles. had never noticed them before. Thanks for that :clap:

Nevertheless a good idea to mark them up. On other models eg Fabia the indents are on the sill on the outside. Putting them inside the doors on the Octavia is rather stupid and difficult to accurately use ( who would jack up with an open door?)

I've marked mine by bending/squashing the stupid lip bit where my hockey puck has not sat right

Have to agree. Think a bit of paint dabbed on is needed. If I put a bit on the end of a dowel rod it should leave a nice small dot.

Tipp-Ex is easily removed with a cloth and WD-40, petrol or similar and a better idea than paint.

It's really not a hardship to open the door as you position the jack and then close it once in place.

You have to open the front doors fully to see the marks near the front, and then position the jack directly under the open door, its not easy, the jack winding handle fouls with the door, and try doing that at the side of a busy motorway.....

I wouldn't try changing a wheel on the hard shoulder no matter where the marks are.

+1.At that point they'll be inside your undercrackers!

If there's not space to open the door then there's definitely not space for me to be mucking about changing wheels at the side of the road anyway.

I put some outdoor reflective tape on mine. It's available on ebay for not very much.

Never needed any marks on every car I have ever jacked up, you can see where the sill is thicker and that is where the jacking points are
