Rewinding podcast

Featured Replies

Just trying the Bluetooth on a Columbus unit

Can skip between podcasts OK but if you miss a bit and want to rewind a few seconds I get the message - this function not available

There is a circle along the line telling you how far in the podcast you are but with not allow you to skip to some other part

Does anyone know how to rewind a podcast

I don't think it's possible. Certainly on media stored on the unit it's not possible to fast forward or rewind in track, just skip to start and finish of the tracks.

I know. It's not relevant where the media is stored, it's the fact the Columbus doesn't have the capability to rewind media. You might be able to rewind it from your phone end, but that involves breaking the law and risking points and a fine.

It's not possible in the Skoda interface, but If you have an iPhone you can tell Siri to do it.

Just to confirm, is this a MK2 Octavia with a Columbus (RNS-510) we are discussing? I only ask as the OP's signature mentions 'Octavia II' but they are quite active in the MK3 section.

Assuming it is the RNS-510 style, I can certainly fast forward and rewind media on my phone via BT (Nexus 5X and 3C8...E) and on USB connected via MDI. It works by both the MFSW buttons and head unit, just hold the button down...

If it's the MK3 style then I don't know, but the OP should update their profile :)

Y'know, that's been bugging me for years, and I never thought of holding the feckin button. Thanks... :peek:

I was wrong, tried it today with an iPhone and it worked.
