Clutch pedal crazyness

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a skoda vrs 55 plate and I'm getting weird things happening with my clutch pedal

I put the car in gear and drive off if I rest my foot on the pedal (no pressure) and let my foot off the accelerator the brake pedal drops slightly and when I accelerate again the brake comes up again?

I have also noticed that it's hard to get into 1st or reverse sometimes but by lifting the clutch and pressing again it will go into gear ok ?

There is no slipping of the clutch and the pedal bites quite low

Has anybody got any ideas on this one

Thanks in advance

The clutch and brake hydraulics use the same reservoir, so start by checking the fluid level.

Once that's correct, try bleeding the clutch. If that doesn't work, do a VCDS bleed procedure on the brakes, including the ABS block.

Had a similar issue on my old Cordoba PD130.

I bled the brakes and the clutch and all was well again.

The fluid that came out when I bled the clutch was dark black so had obviously never been bled when the brakes were done. A bit of air also came out.
