6 year itch

Featured Replies

I know a few of you will already remember me toying with changing my car a number of months back, but I am really quite serious now, not that the wife seems to care  :dull:

My 2007 Octavia according to the stealers is worth Jack so I either take a hit or try and sell privately after buying a newer car.

Now I always wanted to change it, like for like and get another elegance estate, but we always use the Grand C Max when going out as a family so I am going to get a little hatch instead.

Not test driven, but aim to soon, the Seat Leon FR in either 150 or 180 guise. Have read up loads and loving the spec. I am looking at around a 13/14 plate so roughly £11-£12k.

Wondered if anyone had any bad points to go with all the positive reports from magazines, professionals and normal folk? I know this is a Skoda forum, but we have all come from other manufacturers and tend to stay even if we move on. Still VAG and means I can use my shark STS for even more ponies.

My son has just handed his privately-owned Leon 1.4 FR ACT 150 Bhp back at the 2 year point for a company A4. Very impressed, quality was good, no rattles when I travelled in it, lots of toys, great performance for the engine size and brilliant economy for the price.

Thanks Red

On this side of things, Might it be worth putting it up for sale on here (via freedom membership), with a "not available until" date, or maybe just to put feelers out on interest? Might help save/make you a few pounds!

I shall be re-signing up for freedom that is for definite. The stumbling block is our remortgage, just waiting to hear when that is so that I can time the change afterwards. Also will mean our flooring will be paid off so that money wont be missed when needed on a loan

Soooo, sitting in one today hasn't helped matters  :envy:

It looks like July next year when it happens. Think it will have to be a buy it and sell my car privately and then pay off part of the loan with the sale of the car or ask to borrow a work's vehicle whilst I look.
