W5W LED bulbs

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've been looking at LED replacements for the map reading lights on my 57 plate Octavia .. however the ones I've ordered from eBay are too long, when measured they are approx 30mm in length, which are just too long :(  Whilst they work ok ... I can't get the cover back on.

Any recommendations ?  I'm guessing they need to something like 20mm ?  Same size as the existing (non LED) W5W capless bulbs ...

Company called Fizzmo seem quite popular for LED w5w bulbs on here, try checking them out.

I just got some off eBay that weren't too long just same size as originals. Didn't even bother with canbus ones. Replaced all interior lights with none canbus and all work and no glow

A small update, found Fizzmo on eBay, and there stuff looks good, better than the others I've purchased so far. Reasonable prices too.

I've emailed then, simply so I can check the dimensions / length before I buy.

As an aside, I replaced the number plate bulbs with led's (complete with heatsinks earlier today) on both of my Skodas earlier today .. Wow, what a difference they make, for the sake of £1 of per bulb.

Hey - I have recently installed warm white LED's in my Octavia and they fit perfectly.

I chose to go with Warm white beacuse after using the cool white or pure white color LED's for about a year in my old car, I noticed the white light is not that pleasant on the eye. Plus, most high-end cars use warm white.

They are quite long but the glass fits back on without touching them. They also ahve a lens and they are quite strong without being too bright or blinding you during the night.

I purchased from here:

Final update from me . the replacement bulbs I ordered from Fizzmo arrived today, all fitted and working fine.  Right little powerful things they are too ..

Cracking service from Fizzmo too, delivery within 24 hours, well packaged and a company that actually took the time to answer an email, and recommended some products.  They have my business from now on :)
