What are the ballpark costs of replacing the springs and dampers on a vRS Pre-FL

 

- Standard oe suspension

- Upgraded suspension (eg B12's)

Bilstein B4, New bushes, new topmounts and bushes and new front wishbone buses...

That's a low end version.

The B12 kit was IIRC about £700 once all fitted, but that was a while ago.

You can pick up the B12 kit for around £500 if you look, if you have access to the tools and are reasonably mechanicaly competent then it aint a difficult job to do yourself, then a 4 wheel alignment for £70 ish.

I was thinking about £500-600 for the kit, £50 per corner installation and then a full geom for around £70 too.

Don't forget though that as well as those costs you're also likely to need to consider wishbone bushes, drop links, top mounts and bearings, probably tie rod ends if you're in there anyway.

IME these all lasted around 80-100k miles before they needed to be done, with the exception of the bushes, which should have been done way before I did.
