So who uses it?

I've just downloaded it and gave it a go.. Very impressed with it so far.

2 months free with Strava Premium should see me into 2017.

For the ones that haven't herd of it.. Its a virtual cycle ride with other people from around the world. Sounds crap I agree, but it's great.

I did 10 miles yesterday and it knackered me out. When the hills came or someone was catching up you have to put more effort in to beat them. I was finding I had to go for the KOMs and Sprints too.

Perfect for winter training when it's rubbish weather.

I've been looking at this for quite a bit now but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet as I have no room for a trainer etc to be up all the time, so would need to be packed away each time.

Are you using a resistance trainer with the zwift or a normal one?

Just using my normal tacx rollers. I have speed, cadance and hr all on a ant+ usb. It works everything out for you.

Oh, ok. I'm a little dubious using it with my rollers as they offer little to no resistance so for me, would take away from the experience. I'd like a trainer that offers resistance when hitting inclines etc. I might have a look though and use my rollers and see how I get on.

With the ant+ sensors and the USB dongle what exactly does it do for you?

Calculates your power.

So for example you were riding at 80rpm doing 20mpg and it worked it out at 300 watts and you come to a 'hill' if you don't change your input you will just slow right down. But it makes you put more effort in to spin faster to increase your power to get you up the 'hill' - other wise whats the point lol.

I know what you mean but without buying a smart trainer it's pretty good. Cheapest one is ~£350, but I'd rather go out on my MTD and get muddy than spend that.

I already have the Garmin sensors to use with my 810, but Zwift just connects to them and reads.

If you have a cadence sensor that can connect to the computer you've got everything to give it a go.

It's free for 2 weeks when you sign up, so your not loosing anything.

Let us know how you get on :)

I used it for a while when it first came out but never saw the benefit of paying for it. I prefer controlled interval's which is difficult on there. When i last used it you needed a power meter, or something to measure your power, then your speed was determined by the measured power compared to the weight you input in your profile. But there was generally some tool who put their weight low so their W/Kg was favourable and would fly around like a loon.

I agree about the winter part though, to just put some hours in it beats churning the miles out in the wind and rain.
