fabia disc changer under passenger seat?

Featured Replies

i am looking to put a disc changer in my fabia.

there is a space under the passenger seat which i believe accommodates the factory fit disc changer but it seems to me that that space is tiny.

am i missing something ? as my car didn't come with a disc changer is the space under the seat just a small cubby hole or is that all the space there is?

my changer is about 8inches deep but the space i have is about 4 at best. i havent looked too closely but can that plastic tray be removed? i gues i couldsaw the back off or smoething.

anyone fitted an aftermarket changer in this space?

Most Fabia's have a storage bin under the passenger seat. The CD changer fitment requires removal of the storage bin and brackets fitting to the seat to mount the changer and a replacement trim for the seat.

There's a list of the bits here.

I've recently fitted a changer which I acquired from a colleague at work who was selling her mk4 Golf. It came complete with the leads/brackets etc which are a direct fit. I looked at fitting under the seat but it's in the boot for the moment.

There is at least a couple of inches behind the back of the plastic box. I took mine out and sawed the back off to get various bits of ICE kit in. The changer is Velcro'd to the box, and the box is fixed on its standard mounts, which is a good way of coping with non-standard sizes. The door on the plastic box protects the kit, too.
