Speakers ?????

Featured Replies

right i have an interesting problem with my speakers in that the tweeters in the back doors dont work and neither does the left hand rear speaker all the speakers and tweeters in the front and right hand rear (drivers side)work. IIRC i think someone posted with a similar problem but i cant find the thread can anyone help?

cheers

alex

how old is the car and wot model is it?

Check the connections at the left hand rear speaker. Maybe someone has tried disconnecting the tweeters and pulled out both plugs on that side.

right i had a better look and i seems that only the L hand side speaker and tweeter is not working ???

Have you had a look at the state of things behind the HU? And has it been like this since you bought it (ie. take it back to the dealer and complain it's pants and that they should fix it)?

fixings all seem in the right place have booked car in for 12th of nov just wondered if there were any good ideas about sorting it out? i spoke to the garage i bought it from and they said my car shouldnt have 8 speakers and suggested they were after market, but they are all skoda branded so i presume the dealer fitted them post sale

If you have a multimeter then you should be able to diagnose whether it's a problem with the HU having gone wrong or the wiring is suspect. If you can live with the dodginess though, you might as well let your dealer cope with it.

And the fact is they sold you a car with 8 speakers, all 8 speakers shoudl work and they shouldn't be trying to do a "fob off" with that aftermarket nonsense... ;)

i have now fitted 2 HU to it the original and the aftermarket one i bought with the same result i am going to stick a multimeter on it later to see what i see

Sounds like problem with the wiring...see what the multimeter brings up though, should be interesting... :)
