Noise from front of cabin when starting AC

Hi all!

For some time now (was there when I got the car actually) I have a noise from front of the cabin when AC is starting and sometimes during the drive when AC is doing something. Was on regular maintenance check today and they said this noise is normal. I don't quite get it how that can be normal thing on a 40k GPB car. Apparently it's some sort of valve or something that "grinds" when opening and closing. And they can't fix it.

Anyone else having this issue? Noticed something with your cars?

If I remember correctly, there was a topic about similar thing here on the forums way back ago but for love of me, I can't find it. Anybody remembers something on these lines?

EDIT: When I say AC I mean Air Conditioning.
