110 bhp 2.0L diesel ecu remap

Featured Replies

I am taking early retirement next year and plan to caravan more and make the most of it. My van is lightweight at 1200kg, but I plan to travel further, Spain and Italy being on the cards instead of just France, so a bit more oomph for the hills would be nice.

I am toying with the idea of a Shark remap for when the warranty expires on my 2014 Yeti. Shark because of the positive comments on the forum.

A stage 1 would take me to 140bhp and a stage 2 to 175bhp. Both cost the same. I asked whether the 5 speed box fitted was up to it and they are perfectly happy it will have no problem.

I must stress it is the torque increase I am after. I do not thrash my Yeti, in fact more the opposite would be nearer the truth judging by my mpg figures.

I have contacted Adrian Flux and was amazed to find the remap insurance on both 140bhp and 175bhp are the same as each other. Of even greater surprise was they were less than standard 110bhp spec.

Has anybody taken this route with this engine and gearbox, and if so what are your views.

Thank you - Colin

The 110ps engine gearbox will take the 140ps tune easily but 175 may affect reliability.

I tow a light caravan and the 110ps copes very well, my favourite towcar a Ford Focus

was 115bhp and pulled the same caravan much more easily.

I may be wrong, but to get the stage 2 map (which may be the same price) you also need to invest in upgrading some parts to make the extra power.

Yes I'd imagine it would need an exhaust , intercooler , and some sort of induction kit to go from 110bhp to 175bhp
