Vrs idles high

Featured Replies

Hi new here.

Resently bought a 03 plate Octavia vrs. Orange engine light is on all the time and sometimes it takes A while to start then the EPC light is on. Turn it off And hack on again and the light goes off. It has also started to idle fast like between 1509-2000 rpm. And today the temp gauge went up to 90 on motorway and when I put the engine under load it went up fast. Pulled off the motorway opened the bonnet but it wasn't to hot under there and no hot smell. Any advice accepted.

I would of thought the obvious thing to do would be to scan the car for fault codes, especially as you have a warning light in your face. Could be something as easy as the coolant temp sensor.

Welcome to the forum btw  :D

Have scanned it prior to the temp issue showing lambs sensor issues. According to the Ecu but I know it's to do with the airflow meter. Audi A4 1.8t common fault.. was looking to see if temp thing was common or not.. also looking to remap the car for road legal track car

If you suspect the MAF, do the "MAF disconnect test"?

Also check the CTS since your OP makes me think that it may be faulty.
