As title

I'm after - Octavia mk3 vrs 18“ spacesaver spare wheel/tools  north east, or I could arrange courier collection 

I just got a used space saver on eBay for £48 which doesn't look like it's ever been used....I'm told that as long as it's 5 x 112 18" from any car it'll fit. The one I bought was from an audi so we'll see.

I bought one secondhand which was advertised locally, it came off of an Audi A4 Estate model, pretty much mint, 17 inch profile, with a jack but technically speaking it is the wrong jack for the current Octavia, although it did seem to work fine when I tested it, taking one of the rear wheels off and then back on again. It just sits in the boot wrapped in a blanket underneath the lower floor in my car, of course after going to the trouble of buying it I've never actually needed to use it ever since then but it kind of makes you feel more secure knowing that you have a spare wheel in case one tyre is completely wrecked and I've been in that position once many years ago half way between Skye and Fort William when my Rover 400 somehow got its steering geometry knocked out a bit and rubbed right through on the inside edge completely shredding one of my rear tyres on a nice dark night in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure that can of foam would have been completely useless on that occasion!

 

Think my spare cost about a hundred pounds from Gumtree and I'll probably put it back on there again soon to sell it before the Octavia goes early next year, no point in giving that to the garage for nothing. It should fit pretty most VW group cars, so should be fairly easy to sell on again. Certainly worth checking out Gumtree and eBay to see what is available in your own area or to have delivered.
