Electric wing mirrors only adjust up or down

Hi all,

I have just noticed that my wing mirrors will only adjust up or down, not in or out.

I'm sure they did as I must have adjusted them when I bought it. Also neither of them now heat up... could they be connected?

I have a 62 plate SE.

The heating wires are separate which plug in to the two lugs bottom left, the motor connects to the center maybe one of the long metal lugs is snarled, take of cover to investigate 2012-03-21124458.jpg

I will have a look but I would imagine maybe it's something else as neither are working, and that would be a bit of a coincidence.

On the adjustment, does anyone know if there are separate connections for the back and forth as again, for both to not be working would seem to me to be maybe switch related?

Also does anyone know if the up/
