Handbrake Cable

Featured Replies

Canny find a definitive answer and I did use the search function..

On ECP there are two different lengths of cable that apparently fits my car

(56 Plate FabVRS)

Can anyone shed some light on the correct fitment..

Whilst we are on the subject, is it a two piece (L+R) or a three piece (L+R+Center Cable to Handle)

CHEERS!

I have just ordered a pair for mine (2005), I went for 108441558, £17.64 a pair from carparts4less (same company as ECP but always cheaper).

I think the shorter cable is for drum brakes, the longer for discs, the search on ECP always seems to show the drum and disc options even thought the VRS are all discs on the rear.

You would think in this day and age it would be spot on information.. :nerd:

But cheers mate!

Will give carparts4less a go then

Matt.

Got mine from dealers and were pennies more expensive, used ECP before and only lasted a couple off years.

Not OE quality then

One of the few things from the dealers that I was able to get cheaper than from the motor factor.....

The other thing at one time was brake drums but not any more.

I first fitted pattern brake cables, and found they continuously stretched, and needed to be re-adjusted.The car was difficult to hold on a hill.I replaced them with Skoda OEM cables, which had a visible larger diameter inner cable, problem solved. THe OEM parts were more expensive, but well worth it!
