Wet floors and no central locking

Featured Replies

I know this has been covered.

But I cant tie the two issues together just yet and was looking for some advice.

Firstly are the convenience control module and the ECU one and the same ?

I see some convenience control module under the floor, and lots of people talking about it being above the clutch pedal ?

here's the issue:

Wet carpets in front passanger and Driver footwell. It's dripping in behind the glove compartment Im guessing the same by the pedals on the drivers side. Now I am pretty sure its the scuttle issue I.e Blocked drains forcing water through heater matrix. I have the replacement clips and will take the scuttle off and clear the drain holes (excuse the technical term).

Now the central locking does not work, even when manually putting the key in. It only operates the drivers door. I took the door card off, to see if there was water ingress in the door. It seems dry in there, checked the connecters to the motor in the door, all looks fine. There is dust in there so pretty sure no water ingress.

Now could the central locking be down to the convenience control module getting wet ?

If so is this located UNDER the steering wheel ? Or is it under the carpets footwell somewere ?

Can someone please advise ?

The convinience module is above the pedals on the mk1 fabia it's got a load of wires going into it you can't miss it take the big plastic surround off if you was to sit in the car it's the big plastic directly in front of your knees

Check the fuse in the fuse box at the drivers end of the dash as the water could of caused a short so would of blown the fuse
