Cheapo Sound Deadening

Featured Replies

Looks pretty good! It's also got me wondering now if my number plates rattle

Chris

Yeah looks good to me also!

It will prob work really well. It does say in the ad that its 45mil thick. Assumin mil means millimetres then I think It will cut down a lot of noise. 'Bloody 2 inch thick sound deadening, I cant get the doors closed'

lol no 45mil is approx 1mm which seems quite thin tbh .......

Ahwell looking to get two lots at this price, can always double up :D

Or is it likely to be useless?

If your noise is caused by the vibration of the panels, it good as it absorbs the energy from the vibrating panels...however, for insulating against road and engine noise, I've never found it that great...

Yeah its to be used to accompany some front components, stop vibrations etc...

Better get and order some then

Doesn't look that great to me tbh.

I love Dynamat extreme - but its not cheap.

I bought a premium bulk pack of Brown Bread from CAD, and its a little thinner than Dynamat, but otherwise identical. I think 2 layers will be good.

Its important to remember that all this will do is stop panels vibrating - e.g. the door panels. It will do little to stop airborne noise.

Walkie - I imagine I'll use at most half of this pack. If you want to make me an offer on say, 4m x 600mm of the stuff feel free. ;)

BTW, using this will improve the sound of your system. However, to cut road noise, engine noise etc you need sound proofing like SAPT220. I'll do a write up when mine is done.
